The first introduction I had to Complementary Therapies
was when I did a Diploma in Holistic Body Therapies at
my local college. It was also there that I had my first
taste of Shiatsu and subsequently started going for
Shiatsu treatments. I was so amazed with the effects
Shiatsu was having on my life that I started my Shiatsu
training with horses. After completing a year of studying
Equine Shiatsu I began learning human Shiatsu at the
University of Derby under Mike Craske. Having
completed the three year degree in June 2008, I went
straight into praciticing Shiatsu and practice in
Ashbourne as well as at the Woodlands.
One of my main aims in practiticing Shaistu is to help
people to make harmonious changes in their lives in
order to feel satisfied and content with life. Another of
my aims is just to simply provide a time when people
can come and relax, to shake of the daily aches of life.
My other passions in life are meditation, Qi Gong,
horses and animals in general. I have been practitcing
meditation and Qi Gong throughout my Shiatsu training
and they have been instrumental in helping me to change
and find some balance in my life. Horses have brought
me a great deal of joy as well as teaching me a few things!!
In the future I would love to work with both animals and
people using Shiatsu, Qi Gong and also Herbalism.
