Jo's first professional training was as a Dental Hygienist. Challenged by the issue of dental health in her patients, which had more to do with genetic predisposition and individual susceptibility than with sugar consumption and tooth brushing, she cast her sights wider into the field of complementary health for answers - more specifically to the realm of medicine called Homoeopathy.

The issues which seemed once to be of small importance in a conventional approach to health care, were now of primary concern. The "how" you express your disease or illness, and it's individual variations, informed the choice of homoeopathic medicine, a medicine for the individual.

In 1989, Jo began her training as a Homoeopath at Soluna Homoeopathic College, completing this in 1993. Following this, she trained as a Transpersonal Counsellor, certifying in 1996. The Transpersonal approach acknowledges and works with our own individual innate wisdom. In 2000 she completed Postgraduate training with Jeremy Sherr and the Dynamis School of Classical Homoeopathy. She has tutored and supervised homoeopathic students towards their graduation. In 2005 she graduated as a Certfied Zero Balancer, and she is currently engaged in Doctoral Study at the University of Derby - looking into perceptions of health and disease, and at our contemporary understanding of well being.

Jo was a founder member of the Woodlands group of practitioners, and has been instrumental in the development of its philosophy and ambience. Work in the complementary health field for her, continues to be a source of inspiration and joy. She is a mother, martial artist, mover, shaker, dancer, singer and gardener, and enjoys life with warm hearted enthusiasm.
