Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the controlled use of pure essential oils and massage techniques to promote a feeling of relaxation and well-being. The essential oils are extracted from various parts of plants so therefore are completely natural. They have been used for thousands of years for cleansing, healing and mood enhancement.

The oils act on both physical and emotional levels and are blended together with a ‘carrier’ oil for your individual well-being. The blend is then applied to the skin and the oils will be absorbed into your system promoting elimination of waste substances.

Through the sense of smell the oils will also enter into our system promoting either a sense of relaxation or stimulation depending on the oils used.

Some of the benefits of an aromatherapy massage are:
• Improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, which aids the elimination of tissue wastes such as lactic acid and carbonic acids that build up in the muscle fibres causing aches, pains and stiffness.
• Helps in the reduction of stress related disorders.
• Strengthens the immune system.
• Aids digestion.
• Encourages sleep and helps to prevent insomnia.
• Re-balances you as the whole
• Well being during pregnancy
• May help in the reduction of stretch marks during pregnancy

Aromatherapy can be used on a regular basis just for the ‘feel good’ factor and as a preventative treatment.

During the treatment the body will be massaged in a gently flowing routine. If required the head and face can be included.
