My journey into counselling began in Cambridge. I was at a junction in life and decided to take evening classes to gain clarity. After taking pottery, counselling, garden design and writing for children, I decided that counselling was the way forward. Life took over and I found myself back in Derby desiring more counselling knowledge. I began my diploma in Counselling with the University of Derby in 2013. Since my diploma I have gained experience with Age UK, counselling staff the NHS and with The Elm Foundation (formerly Women’s Aid). I have also achieved accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. My counselling interests include trauma and PTSD, Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and Psychosynthesis.
I work with a wide range of people such as people who are anxious, depressed, have traumatic pasts, don’t know who they are, have low self-esteem, lack confidence, feel stuck, survivors of abusive relationships and survivors of childhood trauma.
