What is Reiki

Reiki is a non-invasive complimentary therapy and has been described as an intelligent energy, travelling to any source that needs healing.  Reiki is a Japanese word and means ‘universal life force’.

During a reiki treatment the intention is to harmonise the energy systems of the body, mind and spirit, putting the body in the best position to heal itself, rather than solely focussing on a symptom.  Reiki can help to rebalance our personal energy space (our aura), through clearing negative emotions and replacing them with positive ones.  Reiki also works to balance chakra energy (energy centres, spinning wheels) which are located in the aura, but interact with the physical body.

No matter what your symptoms are, reiki can provide a general feeling of being more laid back and better able to cope; of being more positive and less effected by stressful people and situations.

Reiki can stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms to help:

  • Anxiety, Panic attacks, Feeling emotionally low
  • Digestive disorders
  • Pain relief
  • Bereavement
  • Colds & flu or sinus pain
  • Headaches
  • Back pain
  • Period pain
  • Joint aches & pains or muscular tension
  • Injuries
  • Circulatory problems
